And of course it was blue. Or gray.

This is a nice little piece. It does not seem like fiction, but more like a personal essay. It talks about Halloween from a hometown perspective and some things that the author remembers about where he grew up. I like that all these pieces are different. This time of year lens itself to reminiscing and this is a nice story to sit back and sip cider and think about the traditions you grew up with.

There is a nice bit in the beginning about scary movies. These seem to be a tradition this time of year. I see a lot of posts about which is your favorite, and about how Halloween isn't really the holiday without a certain movie. I saw the one the author references in the theater. It wasn't terrifying for me, but left me with a pounding headache. My wife on the other hand, can't hear or see anything that references it, or she gets severely creeped out. Ahh, the joys of horror.

The author doesn't have a website or author page listed, just a short bio. He seems to have had the life experience to justify the details of his story. It will be interesting to see if he has written anything else.

Check back tomorrow for more exciting stories!
